  • Texas State’s Office of Sustainability has received funding from the Environmental Service Fee Committee to install a Blackland pocket prairie on the 235 square foot plot.

  • A pocket prairie is a small urban planter featuring native plants that provide habitat for native species like the Monarch butterfly and the Green Anole.

  • It will also function as a bioswell, which means that it will collect and hold rainwater and slowly release it back into the environment helping decrease urban flooding.
